2010 was a year of paradoxes for me.  I ran a marathon, defended a dissertation, won a few awards, graduated, spent a month in Italy, and took amazing vacations.  I also lost two toenails, felt the incredible pain of rejection, lost my great-grandmother, and struggled to find myself in the absence of a clear purpose in life.

All in all, I feel like this year was a significant developmental experience for me.  I’ll likely look back and see this year as a point at which things changed for me.  As much turmoil as I faced this year, I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.
