OK, sorry to be harping on how much I heart IKEA, but I found this blog a few days ago while trying to figure out the curtain wire assembly. There are so many clever ideas in this blog, many of which I would like to attempt.
I realize that some of their stuff is kind of crap, but with some of their products, you really can’t go wrong.
I wish I lived near one. Then again, maybe I don’t. I would probably spend a lot of money there.
I LOVE Ikea. I don’t know that I’d buy furniture for my entire house from there, but so many of the basics are nice and cheap and work well.

Yeah, their furniture isn’t all that great, for the most part. I love their textiles and glassware and stuff like that.
Ooh, neat blog! We’re trashing/selling most of our furniture before the big move, so we’re going to be hitting up the IKEA in Portland pretty hard. I’ll have to bookmark this for future ideas. I love the cat tree they made out of the shelves.
OMG, I envy you for your future proximity to an IKEA store. That cat tree sounds like a great idea for your kitties. If we still had two, I’d consider doing it, but Applejack gets enough climbing in with two trees in our back yard.
It’s possible I’m a bad consumer, and I’d probably think differently if I lived closer to Atlantic Station, but I found Ikea loses its thrill after a while. I have the furniture I need, and I can get lingonberries at Target now. For most everything else I’d rather go to Target or Macy’s or anywhere else: Ikea doesn’t shine as much in the kitchenwares and sundries, I’d rather not deal with the crowd, and I don’t really want everything measured in cL. Maybe part of this has to do with making three or four tours of Ikea in a couple of weeks as everyone visited Atlanta and insisted on going to Ikea.
They do have some nice deals on house plants, though. I might make a trip once I finish cleaning out the sun room.
Yeah. I no longer go to the store to wander and marvel. I generally know exactly what I want, grab it, and try to get the hell out of there. For things like duvets, tablecloths, and curtains, you can’t beat their deals.
I love them most for their cheap and beautiful lamps. Oh, and my bear shaped chair. I love the teddy bear chair.
