When the hell did Gap decide that $70 was a reasonable price for a pair of jeans? It’s not as if they’re paying their workers fair wages anyways.
You know things are out of control when purchasing a t shirt and jeans will set you back nearly $100.

The mark-up for Gap jeans has GOT to be sky-high since Old Navy sells their jeans for $30. Seriously. $70? I might as well go buy some $150 designer denim.
Seriously. I think they’re justifying these inflated prices b/c designer jeans have become more popular. Lots of folks don’t flinch paying $160 for a pair of Seven or Lucky jeans.
I found out today about “raw” jeans, which I guess you aren’t supposed to wash pretty much ever. So not only do I have the opportunity to drop three digits on jeans, but I should let them get stanky, too? I’m confused. Screw this, I’m going back to slacks.
Yay for stinky, overpriced jeans! Um, no thanks.
I usually have to buy from GAP since they have a nice 36 inch inseam and they tend to be the cheapest, but I still refuse to pay full price. I only order when they’re on sale or when I have a coupon. It’s ridiculous.
I have the opposite problem…I need decent short jeans, and about the only brand I’ve found that consistently fits me is Gap. I usually only buy sale jeans, as well. I found one pair I like that they have in my size that’s only $48.
That’s pretty ridiculous since on the guys’ side, most of the jeans retail for $40-$50 (some of higher end ones go up to $70).
Yeah, less fabric, but twice as expensive. I’ve never understood that.
I refuse to pay the $70 from GAP b/c their jeans never seem to consistently fit me after I actually wash them (go figure). I would be willing to pay $70 or more on jeans that work though. In the meantime, I have found a great tailor (seamstress?) who hems jeans (and actually leaves the stitching in) for $10 or $15 a pair since I am too tall for “short” but too short for “regular”. It’s opened up options even if I’m not saving a ton of $$ after alterations fees!
I’m too short for “short” but I just wear heels and it’s all good, LOL. If I had the money, I’d probably spring for some more expensive jeans, but for now, since we’re in “super saving” mode in anticipation of moving 2 years from now, I don’t really have the means to do that. Well, I do, but then there’s a lot I couldn’t do b/c I’d be out of money.
