I can’t wait to get out of here. I don’t want to surround myself with people who believe this way, and I’ll be damned if I ever raise kids in a place like this.
Yes, there are bigots, idiots, and assholes everywhere, but in Alabama, it seems to be a way of life.

And now a cliche.
The grass is always greener on the other side.
Re: And now a cliche.
And your point is…?
Re: And now a cliche.
No, the grass really isn’t greener. As someone who grew up in (arguably) the South, and is now in the belly of the liberal beast, I would definitely prefer that my children grow up in a place where their gay friends, family members, or colleagues weren’t constantly and publicly targeted as in the CW column.
Re: And now a cliche.
Agreed.
Re: And now a cliche.
Then how are the “ignornant hicks” supposed to learn their silly ways if all the “enlightened progressives” keep moving away.
Re: And now a cliche.
It’s not up to us to change them. I can choose where I damn well want to live, and it’s not here. Each and every one of them can stay here and rot for all I care. They don’t want to change, and nothing/no one can change that. Trust me, I think a few people have tried.
